Description

This discussion series celebrates Native American authors and books, across genres, across time, and across the continent.

This month, watch AADL staff for a discussion of Everything you Wanted to Know About Indians but Were Afraid to Ask by Anton Treuer.

Our discussion is facilitated by Ariel Ojibway. Ariel loves cooperative movements and human communities taking care of each other the way our other-than-human family on Turtle Island takes care of us. She's overly fond of books, hot cocoa and puppies; she loves plants, libraries, and dance. If she could have her druthers, she'd always be by the water. Ariel loves to be part of sharing stories and it makes her hopeful that the telling of the stories of stolen land, stolen people, and stolen histories is louder now than when she was young. She believes stories can lead our world back to the right path. Ariel is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Band of Chippewa Indians, and all her other ancestors came from cold, wet places, too.
