Join Musique Noire, the award-winning, women-led Motor City string quartet, for a live concert of their unique world fusion arrangements, incorporating musical elements of Spain, Africa, India, and the Middle East, as well as jazz, blues, and funk. Musique Noire is led by violinist and flutist Michelle May, a 2018 Detroit Kresge Artist Fellow.

The members of Musique Noire are veteran players nationally and internationally, having performed with high-profile artists such as Stevie Wonder, KEM, Aretha Franklin, El Debarge, and Frank McComb among many others. Currently, the group features Michelle on violin and flute, Leslie Deshazor Adams on viola, Leah Lucas Celebi on viola and violin, and JoVia Armstrong, a 2011 3Arts Siragusa Foundation (Chicago) Artist Awardee, on percussion.

The four women of Musique Noire are dressed in black. They are all turned in toward one another, but their heads are turned to the camera.
