Join AADL for a screening of Many Passages of Time: The Story of Indian Muslims in America, followed by a short and Q&A with the filmmaker, Arifa Javed. The film examines the every-day lives of Indian-American Muslims and common misconceptions around Islam and ethnicity via conversational documentary interviews.

Arifa Javed is a professor of Sociology at Eastern Michigan University and has produced and directed 2 previous films on the Indian-American experience: "Essential Arrival: Michigan's Indian Immigrants in the 21st Century" and "The Season in the Mist: A Story of Sikhs in America." Many Passages of Time first premiered in the Great Lakes International Film Festival in September of 2022. Prior to teaching at EMU, Prof. Javed taught at the University of Michigan Dearborn and Wayne State University.
