Intro to Taiwanese Music with National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan
Downtown Library: 1st Floor Lobby
Join us for a talk with five soloists from the National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan. They will demonstrate five different Chinese instruments—the Dizi (transverse flute), Sheng (reed organ), Yangqin (dulcimer), Erhu (2-string spike fiddle), and Eco-Gehu (cello)—and show how they are used in traditional Chinese and Taiwanese music.
This event is in partnership with MITAI and the Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments in the School of Music, Theater, and Dance at the University of Michigan.
The Library was not given permission to provide a stream for this event.
