Burying the Creek

LocAAtion, locAAtion, locAAtion!!! In honor of Ann Arbor's bicentennial, this badge series focuses on some of the past and present landmarks that makes Ann Arbor...well, ANN ARBOR!! Summer Game artist Mario Zucca created a brilliant map of the city we all love but may not fully know...YET!

Ann Arbor was established around a creek—but why don't we see it going through town today?

I think that may be the issue. The third word you're looking for begins with an F! The other two words are the NAME of the waterway in question (A**** C****)! Those should get you there! HAPPY PLAYING!!!

I entered the words exactly as you said, and found one item: a photo from 1902. But it didn't have a code.

#5 Entered A**** C**** H**** R**** A*** D** and got 3 photos, but none are this code. I just got finished looking at 27 photos for a search of A*** D**. Help!

I am stuck on the second clue. I tried looking for Allen creek and again for Sam schlecht but found nothing. Where am I going wrong?

You'll want to go back to that article you found about the creek for clue one and start reading it! When you get to the part where Sam Schlecht describes the creek, notice the four-word phrase he uses to describe it. Then type in those four words into the "Code Text" box toward the top of the badge to get your POINTS!

Let's DIG IN and see if we can figure out the CHALLENGE. Be sure to search using the LOCAL HISTORY and PHOTO dropdowns. That should result in a return of TWO images, and the code is in one of them!

If you've done all that and still not finding it, fill out the form at http://aadl.org/contactus and choose summer game, and give us the uncensored version of the words you searched. We'll FIGURE it out!

Thanks for playing!!!

Try switching the dropdown that says Catalog to Local History, and then you'll see the drop downs in the middle box MAGICALLY change! (But if it's still giving you trouble, fill out the form at http://aadl.org/contactus and choose summer game and let us know where you're getting stuck! We'll be in touch!!)

A tip for folks doing this on their phones or smaller screens, the codes on local history records end up at the bottom instead of near the top.

Hi there! You need to read the article that the first clue led you to! When you get to the part where Sam Schlecht describes the creek, notice the four-word phrase he uses to describe it. Then type in those four words into the "Code Text" box toward the top of the badge to get your POINTS! :)
