Super Search Five!

Imagine a word-search, but you've got to figure out the words, too! Meet the SUPER SEARCH!

In this hexagonal grid, there are 36 hidden words (forwards, backwards, or diagonally) that fall under SIX categories. Circle the answers as you find them -- like with a traditional
word-search, letters can be used in multiple words.

When you are finished, there will be 7 letters that aren't used in any words, which, when written in order, will give you your final code.

Your SIX word categories (with six words each): Well-Known Bands with One-Word Names, Lakes with an area of 2500 Square Miles or larger, Science Classes, Cat Breeds, Store-Bought Cookie Names, and First Names that are also Verbs (any tense)

All words have at least 3-letters, are not plural (UNLESS the brand or band name is plural), and do not use abbreviations. No words are entirely contained within other words. Wondering whether or not a band is well-known? They definitely need to have their own Wikipedia Page!

Here's a printer-friendly version. (You definitely want to print these puzzles, or stop by the library and we're happy to print them for you!)

Individual letters, inside triangular shaped boxes that nestle together to make a full puzzle grid of letters.

For well-known bands with one-word names: I think I found one that starts with C, but the band name technically also contains the word "The." Not sure if it's really an answer or not?

I love these puzzles! This one was tricky! I had to figure out which 7 of 8 remaining letters made a word that could be the code in order to find the last word I needed to find (which only had one letter that wasn't already part of another word).

This one threw me for a LOOP! (just a hint here, my clue isn't actually useful, despite the 1986 English rock group that might convince you otherwise!)

I sure hope it is legit to get the points by process of elimination! I had two words left to find and was losing steam on verb names cookies with one extra letter (8/7) so I took a stab and got it. Good head scratcher this week. Learned about cats and lakes.

I figured out the code and had six words in each other six categories. I somehow ended up with 12 total letters though. I was able to find the seven letter word within that bigger string of letters. This was tricky, but fun!!

This one was the hardest yet. Took coming back to it for a couple days, but I did it! So much fun. :)

Hi there!! We can help much more directly through email rather than in comments! Please email the words you have for that category or where exactly you're stuck and we can help you without spoiling the answers for other players! :)
