Description
Tohru Kanayama has gone through many phases as an artist, and his current project is abstract photography, with a particular interest in form and composition. He takes photographs of natural light that comes in from outside through windows. The light is filtered with window blinds and other objects that comes in the way and create interesting abstract images. This is a photographic version of Formalist Abstraction.
"I am trying to create interesting and/or beautiful images to look at. The creative process is intuitive, improvisational and accidental. When I work, I only think about making the image look good. My projects are variations on a theme, with stylistic consistency."
