Description
Due to circumstances beyond our control, this event has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Join April Campbell, founder of BIPOC Birders of Michigan for an informational talk about the important roles African-Americans played in wilderness exploration, conservation, and outdoor recreation. Despite their importance, Black stories have been systematically excluded from the historical record. April will briefly discuss why this is so and give a brief introduction to some of the "forgotten" history. A walk in the nearby natural area will follow.
This event is in partnership with Natural Area Preservation.
