Description
In 1963, Detroit’s Olympic dreams clashed with the Black community's urgent need for change. Would a winning bid have changed the city’s trajectory? Combining historic footage and photography with interviews of experts, participants, and their descendents, "Detroit's Olympic Uprising" explores the tension between those who wanted glory for the city and those who wanted equality for its citizens.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Stefan Szymanski, the film's director and producer, and Silke-Maria Weineck, the film's writer and producer.
This 52-minute documentary is unrated.
