Description
Artists and activists who identify as women, non-binary, trans, queer, Black, Indigenous, or people of color only make up a fraction of contributors and content subjects in Wikipedia. Join us to learn how you can take action to address this imbalance by creating or updating Wikipedia entries!
A panel of artists and academics whose work addresses the intersection of race, gender, and sexuality will kick off the event, followed by the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, reference materials, and refreshments.
This event is in partnership with the U-M Library, LSA Technology Services, and the Stamps Gallery. The panel Discussion will be from 1–2:30pm and the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon will be from 2:30–5:00pm.
