Description
This talk explores the deep and evolving relationship between Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples and their natural environment — the mountains, forests, and sea that shape their lives and imaginations. Drawing from books and oral traditions, the presentation highlights how stories, rituals, and intergenerational practices have sustained community bonds and ecological wisdom over time. Through myth and memory, we will consider how these traditions continue to nurture unity, resilience, and respect for the living world.
Dr. Richard Stamps is Professor Emeritus at Oakland University.
