City Planning Commission members voted 7-to-2 last night to approve the present plans for the Forest - Observatory street relocation and extensión project but asked that special efforts be made to keep traffic ïrom infiltrating the Burns Park area. The City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. today to discuss the Forest-Observatory project at a special working committee session. Second Ward Councilman Robert G. Faber, the council's representative on the Planning Commission, was one of the two commission members who voted "no" last night. He was joined by Mrs. Ethyl Lewis. . Commission members urged the city to examine closely possible alternatives to the ForestObservatory project, as well as the Packard-to-Beakes bypass route. On another road matter last night, the commission urged the City Council to take action to complete a roadway connecting S. State Rd. with S. Industrial Highway in the 2400 block. The council had earlier balked at paying for the property but commission members said the road was necessary and the council should obtain the necessary right-of-way.
