Drug Abuse Hearings Scheduled

THe Mayor's Blue Ribbon Committee on Problems of Drug Abuse has announced plans ior three public hearings next week. The 33 member committee will: be divided into three task f orces to hear public opinión on various drug problems. The first hearing will be held by the Community Education and Services task force, vhich has scheduled a meeting ior 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Public Library conference room. The group will focus on the preventive aspects. The Treatment task force, which will emphasize emergency care and long-term rehabilitation, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Public Library conference room. A hearing on the legal side of drugs, such as the state of drug legislation and problems in dealing with minors, has heen scheduled by the Legal task force for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the second floor conference, room of city hall. j All three sub-committees en-j courage public participation. j
