- - r j ff f A grant of $2,000 to Drug Help, Inc. has been authorized [by trustees of the Ann Arbor Area Foundation, according to Wyeth Allen, president. Drug Help, Inc. is a nonprofit organization designed to promote the social welfare of the community with regard to drug abuse by providing emergency aid to youths who have adverse reactions to drugs through an emergency phone service, through volunteers to assist those in need of help; through drug education programs, and referral to medical backup services when necessary. Currently, Drug Help, Inc. is located at 900 Lincoln Avenue, a temporary location. Funds from the Ann Arbor Area Foundation will be used to help assist this agency in maintaining its operations. Specifically, the foundation funds have been designated to assist in rental expenses for a walkin facility which is essential to the opera tion of the program. In announcing the grant, Allen said trustees and the foundation's distribution committee were very much impressed with the potential of this program as well as its present record of service to youth. It is the hope of the foundation that this gift along with possible other resources will make up the minimum of $9,600 which is the proposed minimum budget of the agency for 1970-71. The Ann Arbor Area Foundation is nonprofit and tax-exempt, providing a means for persons to make gifts and be-l quests to carry out community projects in perpetuity orotherwise directed by the donor or as determined by a group of informed citizens.
