Drug Center Step Closer
Plans to Sístablish a Drug Crisis Centér in the Willow Run área will move a step closer to becoming a reality when eight members of the G.I.T. (Get It Together) program attend a two-week drug-education training ' sion conducxed by tfte Department of Health, Education and Welfare, June 17 through 29 in Chicago, 111. The G.I.T. program was one of Washtenaw County's recipients of a recently announced Federal grant to finance the establishment of the Drug Crisis Center. G.I.T. received $26,201 from the grant, and has moved rapidly to implement the program at an early date. Once established, the center will provide educational and counseling service to the Willow Run area where surveys have indicated relatively high percentages of drug use by school age children as well as adults. Those who will attend the Chicago training session are: Sarah Chandler, Anne King, Clarence Lyte, Elizabeth Oden, Patricia Slattery, Hazel Williams, Jim Balmer and Milan Cranovich.
