Elementary students a t Bach, Mack, Northside, and Pittsfield Schools have taken home survey forms to parents lo be completed this week, according t o Director o f Operations Ralph LaJeunesse. Responding to an order from the State Department of Education concerning hot lunch programs for disadvantaged elementary students, the Ann Arbor Board of Education has authorized a pilot program for the s e c o n d semester at these four schools. The purpose of the survey is to determine the number of eligible students for this hot lunch program. After the forms are completed and returned steps will be taken by the board and administration to begin the program as soon as possible. After the number of students who qualify is determined each school will begin locating space for the meals to be served and bids must be taken for the necessary equipment. It is not certain when the pilot program will actually begin but school officials say every effort will be made to begin serving as soon as possible. Anyone interested in being considered for the position of noon hour supervisor can contact LaJeunesse at 6657711 for more information.
