Board Approves School Calendar

A tentanve school calendar was adopted last night by the Board of Education with the recommended dates subject to final ratification of the total contract between the school administration and the Ann Arbor Education Association (AAEA). Proposed dates are Aug. 23 for new teachers to report, with Aug. 23 to 27 the period for new teacher orientation. On Aug. 30, all teachers would report for a system-wide staff meeting in the morning. On Aug. 31, students would report in the morning. Vacations and holidays for the 1971-72 school year would be Sept. 6 for Labor Day, Nov. 25-26 for Thanksgiving, Dec. 20-31 for winter vacation, March 27-31 for spring vacation, and May 29 for Memorial Day.
