Severity-seven St. Thomas High Schoor seniors will be graduated tomorrow during commencement ceremonies in the Church. Ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m. Msgr. Vincent Howard, pastor at St. Thomas, will present the diplomas. Commencement speaker will be Father Frank Srebernak, pastor of St. Francis Catholic Church in Ann Arbor. Named valedictorian of the St. Thomas senior class was Andrew McMillan, Winner of the school's Chemistry Award and Social Science Award in 1970, McMillan this year was named Reader's Digest Valedictorian; runner-up for Junior Achievement President of the Year' for Southeastern Michigan, and a member of the National Honor Society. He also received the Mathematics (4th year) Award this year and an honorary Michigan Higher Education Scholarship. McMillan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart McMillan, 4080 Joanne Court. Salutatorian is Daniel Hardie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hardie, 4 Bristol Court. Hardie, who was president of his freshman class, has been admitted to the Honors Program at the U-M this fall. A member of the National Honor Society, he received a letter of commendation for his scores on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Hardie's other awards and achievements have included: Society of Professional Engineers Award; certifícate of recognition in the State of Michigan Competetive Scholarship Program; a University of Michigan Regents-Alumni Scholarship; semi-finalist in the Michigan Competitive Mathematics Tests and "Outstanding American High School Student." Hardie also earned two varsity track letters, two varsity cross country letters, was co-captain of the cross country team, and was a member of the Ski Club. He was in scouting for six years.
