Four of Ann Arbor's top síx school administrators have expressed uncertainty about the roles they will play in the reorganized administration of School Superintendent-Elect J. Bruce McPherson. Their responses to inquiries by The News neither confirmed nor denied rumors that three local school officials have been asked by McPherson to resign. Sam Sniderman, associate superintendent for instruction, said: I "What consideration for my position will be given I don't know at this point. I assume because of my two-year contract with the school district that I will have a position but I have no other specific information at this point." John Hubley, assistant superintendent for community services, commented: "It is my understanding that the functions of the communication and community services office will be administered by the new superintendent under a different organizational structure. I am still operating under a two-year contract which expires June 30, 1972, which was approved by the Board of Education." "In the new superintendent's reorganization he has indicated to me that my present position will not be existing next year," said Richard Creal, assistant superintendent for planning and administrative services, "but I will continue in some other capacity although I have not been informed yet what role this will be." Stanley Zubel, assistant superintendent for personnel, said that because the reorganization of the administration "is still very much up in the air" he could not give any specific answer or comment. Human Relations Ombudsman Robert Potts and Associate Superintendent for Business and Finance Gerald Neff declined to make any comment on the reorganization. All school administrators are hired under a written contract which follows state requirements that the termination notice of an administrator must be made it writing at least 90 days prior to the contract's termination date or the contract is renewed automatically for an additional year. Although there has been no announcement of resignations from the present administration, McPherson has said he intends to recommend the employment of three new administrators to key positions in the district.
