Interim Principal Appointed At Mack
Harold Fillyaw was apprdved last Inight by the Board of Education to be linterim principal at Mack Elementary ISchool. The Mack post became vacant I earlier this month when former principal iLeroy Cappaert was appointed director lof external affairs. As interim principal, Fillyaw will be paid a daily rate based on an annual salary of $18,630. He has been a group worker at Mack since September, 1970. Fillyaw was recommended for the po-, sition by a selection committee composed of Mack faculty members. The new administrator received a BS degree from Fayetteville, N.C., State University in 1965, and was awarded an MA from the University of Michigan in 1969. He currently is a PhD candidate at the University, and expeets to complete his doctoral program there in 1972. Fillyaw began his teaching career at a Pontiac elementary school. Subsequently, he taught in a community school program for adults in Pontiac, and was a program researcher at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. He returned to Michigan in 1969 to a teaching fellowship at the University prior to accepting hisl first assignment at Mack a year later.l Fillyaw resides at 2982 Birch Hollow Dr. I (Other Board of Education news ap-l pears today on Pages 1, 2)
