Police Say Girl Raped At Slauson
Ann Arbor pólice and public I school officials are 1 ing the suspected rape 1 day of a 14-year-old girl in a I restroom at Slauson Junior I High School. The incident occurred in a girl's restroom on the first f loor of the school at 1019 W. Washington St. at 10:30 a.m. yesterday, authorities said. However it was not reported to school authorities until the end of the school day at 3:30 p.m. The office of School Supt. R. Bruce McPherson and city pólice were notified a short time later. Supt. McPherson and Deputy Supt. Fred Hollid a y went immediately to Slauson to confer with Principal Collier Owens. Deputy Police Chief Harold E. Olson said the suspect has been identified as a 14-year-old boy who, like the victim, is a ninth grader at the school. She was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital by her parents when they learned of the attack. Pólice said she received bruises in the incident. School authorities said it has not been decided what action will be taken against the L boy involved.
