Board Getting 'demands' Of Negroes
A review of the 21 demands to "correct racial jnequities" at Ann Arbor High School, which were presented on May 27 by the school' s Negro students, will highlight tomorrow's 7:30 p.m. Board of Education meeting at the Administrative Offices, 1220 Wells. Supt. W. Scott Westerman Jr.l will review the recommendations of the high-school faculty on the demands, and will sug-l gest future courses of action. Other scheduled agenda items include: - Approval of the list of graduates at Ann Arbor High; - Authorization for a special education summer program; - Authorization to advertise for bids to make renovations at jNorthside School; - Authority to sell 10 shares of stock for the Robert E. Lewis ir. Memorial Fund; - Request for space in the Ann Arbor Schools for a deaf and hard of hearing program; and -The acceptance of gifts. During the 5:30 p.m. public briefing session topics will include a report on the building program and a review of legal considerations and current practices relating to the recruitment of Negroes for staff positions.
