Work at both schools, scheduled earlier to open next month, has been delayed by the constructies strikes which began May 1. All trades have now settled except the trowel trades. Sooren Gozmanian, plannerexpediter for the Ann Arbor Public Schools, said today he hopes to inform the Board óf Education a b o u t occupancyl plans for the two schools 01J Aug. 21. Gozmanian said the work ol the trowel tradesmen ties intd "every critical" portion of botlj Hurón High and King Schooll and that it is difficult at thiJ time to determine whether theiij continued strike will delay furl ther the opening of the schools I Work has partially resumecj at Huron High. But at KingJ work is at a "virtual standstill'1 because of the trowel trades'1 strike, Gozmanian said. Gozmanian reiterated that Scarlett Junior High School' definitely will open next month. That school had originally been slated for completion one year ago. Because Hurón High will not open this September, a doublé shift in the Pioneer High School building will be instituted this fall. Pioneer students will attend classes from 7:30 a.m. to 12:3G p.m. Huron pupils will go to school from 1 to 6 p.m. The doublé shift will continue for the entire school year if Huron High is not ready for occupancy by the second I semester.
