"Good progress" on a largel number of non-economie items I was reported by negotiators forl the Board of Education and the I Ann Arbor Education Associa-I tion after yesterday's bargainingj session. According to James Scheu, j executive secretary for thej AAEA, and Harold Collins, thei association's president, agree-j ment was reached yesterday onj 37 non-economie items. On economie and salary issues, however, Scheu said therel was "no progress at all." A state mediator had been] called in by both teams to helpj restore their apparent impasse in salary negotiations. The teams are continuing to meet I regularly until the mediator arrivés Aug. 13, but have discussed primarily non-economie issues. Thomas W. Hill, professional negotiator for the school board, j called yesterday's session j ful." Scheu agreed that "we're making progress on non-economie items." The negotiators hope to have all non-economie issues settled by Aug. 13, when Mediator Robert Blackwell will come to Ann Arbor. The teams will meet again at 1 10 a.m. Tuesday. J
