The quarterly financíal re- port and the auditors report forj April, May and June were ap-l proved last night by the Annl Arbor Board of Education. o o The trustees authorized thej school board to continue with al Ivelopment at the proposed fifth junior high school. Godfrey had questioned the $548,000 figure as seeming to be excessively high. Smith said his firm believes eertain changes in the site development could possibly be made which might save upwards of 100,000, and said he would like HpjÉjake a further analysis of LBjjiialiün. A request from City Adminis- trator Guy C. Larcom Jr. for financial assistance from the Ann Arbor Schools for the City Bus System was informally turned down yesterday by the trustees. The City Bus Co. transports children to several schools withirfi the school district, o o Trustee Wood was the only board member who did not attend the ZV2 hours of briefing and regular sessions last night. Workman's Compensation selfinsurance plan and to engage the services of Corporate Service of Detroit to help administer the plan for the next two years. o o The board approved an application to the State Department of Education for pre-qualification of a proposed bond issue for school, administrative and library construction which will probably face Ann Arbor School District voters Dec. 18. ïualification is a legal technicality which assures the state will back the bonds. The bond issue will almost certainly be definitely scheduled next Wednesday. o o Last night's 3Vi-hour board meeting was taped in full, for possible future use by radio stations and individual board members. The board also autharized the installation of a public address system in the meeting room. The cost will be between $2,500 and $3,500. o o A sum of $22,924 was authorkzed to be expended from the building fund to cover the Ischools' share of the cost of water service, storm sewer service, sanitary sewer service and street improvements at K i n g Elementary School, o o Trustee Hazen J. Schumacher congratulated Huron High Schoo for winning its first football game last week. Several of the 28 resolutionsl which will be submitted at the! Michigan Association of School! Boards meeting to be held inl Grand Rapids Nov. 5, 6 and 7 were discussed last night by Schumacher and several other I trustees. Trustee William C.l Godfrey raised some questionsl and said he disagreed with sup-l porting four of the resolutionsl on which Schumacher intends to vote "yes" as one of the Ann Arbor board's representatives. After a vote of all trustees present, Schumacher said he will 1 stain on one of the four resolutions in question and will vote affirmatively on the other three. Trustee Richard M. Wood is the board's other representative to the MASB convention.
