Absenteeism at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School this morning was lower than yesterday, indicating the widespread "student strike" called today by the University's Students for a Democratie Society (SDS) to protest the election did not materialrze at the high school. The Pioneer High Student Council passed a resolution yesterday supporting today's student strike. A n "underground" paper passed out at the high school yesterday morning also urged the students to strike today by not attending classes. Pioneer High School Principal Theodore R. Rokicki said the school was quiet this morning, andno walkouts had occurred. Both Pioneer and Huron High students were informed that any pupils who staged a strike or walk-out today would be automatically suspended for an indefinite period. Absentee figures at Huron High were not avarlable at press time, since Huron's classes do not begin until 1 p.m. A resolution similar to the one passed yesterday morning by the Pioneer High Student Council.in support of the strike was defeated twice yesterday afternoon by the Huron High Student Council. , Student Council President Paul Parravano said the resolution was defeated by a 25-17 vote, and was then reintro-l duced with a slightly different wording and again defeated by a 24-20 vote.
