Pioneer High School Principal Theodore R. Rokicki states that he did not say "all students who have grievances against class principal Robert Sloan will be asked to present them through the school's regular grievance procedure." This statement was attributed to Rokicki in an earlier News story. Sloan was also reported as a counselor instead of a class principal. The statement attributed to Rokicki was given to John W. Hubley, the schools' community services officer, by a member Df the Pioneer High School administration. Hubley then gave the statement to The News. Rokicki says that neither he nor Sloan was given a written copy of the black students' demand that Sloan be fired for alleged racial discrimination, along with two other demands that all teachers hired next fall be black and several black students suspended last week be reinstated immediately. Rokicki said he received last Wednesday only the original six demands of black students in writing, though the additional three were communicated to him by phonê. The Pioneer High principal told his faculty Friday that, "Within the realm of my authority, I am personally committed to extending all due efforts to meet" eight goals to better the situation of black students at the high school. One of these goals stated by Rokicki is that discipline policies be enforced on a "fair, object ive basis. Students should not be suspended for suspicion." That statement continued: "I am confident that each of our administrators is trying to do this to the best of his a b i 1 i t y . Being humans, attempting to deal with these delicate issues, can and does cause errors in judgement. I know our staf f is anxious to do this difficult job fairly and will continue to do so."
