Junior High Budget Totals $5.2 Million
A tentative project budget of $5,204,400.30 for Arm Arbor's fifth junior high school, to be built at Nixon and Bluett Rds. on the city's northeast side, was approved by the Board of Education last night. This includes $4,462,912 for construction contracts $236,380.30 for fixed equipment contracts, and $505,108 for other costs, such as landscaping and site work. A total of $5,300,792 is available for the building, leaving a surplus of $96,391.70 available for contingencies. Five contracts for fixed equipment for the fifth junior high school t o t a 1 i n g about $209,000 were awarded to four companies. St; Charles Manufacturing Co. was awarded a contract for kitchen metal c a b i n e t s for f29,162. A contract for $82,164 Eor food service equipment vent to Gold Star Products [nc. Peninsular Slate Co. received two contracts - one for special education equipment at $4,869, another for science laboratory equipment at $56,966. A $36,108 contract for platform seating went to Imperial Equipment Corp. A contract for classroom cabinets has not yet been awarded. National Bank of Detroit was appointed the paying agent for the $4,950,000 bonding issue for the fifth junior high.
