Data Systems Director Hired For Schools

The appointment of Ivan D. Wagner, 34, of Muncie, Ind., as the director of data systems for the Ann Arbor Public Schools was approved last night by the Board of Education. That post has been vacant since June of 1988 when Joseph A. Vachon left it to become principal of Scarlett Junior High School. Wagner's appointment is effective July 1. The director of data systems employs various systems to organize and collect data used in the school system He also helps make data more useful to the school board and the professional staff. Wagner is presently completing requirements' for a doctorate in education at Ball State Teachers College, Muncie, Ind. He received bachelor's and master's degrees there. Wagner taught and coached at several schools in past years, and was a senior high school principal and executive vice principal.
