Some 325 of these students will win Achievement Scholarships neXtThen scgholarship program is sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Mis Mabrey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore R Mabrey of 383 Hüldale Dr Miss Moore?s parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Moore of 11300 Whittaker Rd., Whittaker About 100 of the Achievement Scholarships will be four-year renewable awards ranging m value ïrom $250 per year to $1,500 per year, dependmg on financia! 1 need. The other 225 awards will be one time, non-renewable grants of $1,000. The Achievement sernifinalists were selected from among 36,000 black participants from more than 4,800 schools across the country. Semifinalists who advance to finalist standing are considered for scholarships. They become fmalists by receiving the endorsement of their schools, taking a second examination, and meeting other standard requirements.
