Schools' Gerald Neff To Retire
Gerald Neff, Ann Arbor schools associate superintendent for business and finance since 1954, will retire from his position at the end of this school year. The Board of Education formally approved his resignation at its meeting last night. William Wade, presently director of finance and controlier, will assume Neff's duties. Neff held a similar position in the Mishawaka, Ind., public schools from 1947 until he was named to the Ann Arbor post. His previous experience also included elementary, junior high and high school teaching, and he was also a high school principal. Neff was graduated from Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind., received a master's degree from Indiana University in 1940 and has done additional graduate work at the University of Michigan. School Supt. R. Bruce McPherson and board members stated their regret over Neff's retirement from the system.
