The recommendation to close Meadowview School, located at 4377 Textile Rd., was discussed last night by the Ann Arbor Board of Education and a request for the cost of an alternative plan was made by Trustee Robert Conn. Conn suggested that the administration determine what the expense of adding portables presently at Carpenter school to the Meadowview facility, and transferring some of the Carpenter students. there mstead of closing the school. Meadowview, which now has I a total enrollment of 43 students, has a 1973 projected enrollment of 45. According to the administration, "it is not economically feasible to conï tinue to opérate Meadowview I as a separate facility." It was estimated there would I be a savings of $41,883.06 if the school is closed. This savI ing has been reflected in the I proposed 1972-73 budget. Several parents in the I ence indicated they were not I happy with the I tion, which would mean I ing their children to the Carpenter facility. They said I they feared the building might be abandoned and vandalized. They also questioned the actual cost savings. Future action will be made by the board
