Community High Scal has received a total of 470 applications from Ann Arbor students. All requests for admission to the school have been honored and letters of acceptance were mailed to all the students who chose to apply. Community High School will continue to welcome applications until the projected enrollment of 520 is reached. Community High School students and their parents will be invited to attend a preorientation meeting to be held in each secondary school before the end of this semester. At this meeting students will be given more specific details about the registration procedure and preliminary course selection sheets will be distributed. The first class of Community High School mirrors the distriet's diverse student population and underscores the school's commitment to representation of different ages, sexes and races. When the school opens in Septemi ber, there will be 114 freshI men, 123 sophomores, 119 junI iors, and 109 seniors, thus enI suring an even distribution of I different age g r o u p s . 230 I young men and 240 young woI men pro vide a balanced ual representation. Nearly 8 per cent of the total school enrollment is made up of stoel e n t s of minority groups. (This percentage corresponds to the district's average.) Interviews for the selection of Community High School staff will begin this week. Parents, students and community resource personnel have been invited to join representatives of the Ann b o r Education Association, Black Educators, Human Relations Office, Personnel Office and Community High School planning team in the staff selection process. People interested in becoming involved in staff selection procedures should phone the school for more detailed information. Questions From Our Readers. Question: How do I find out what courses I can take? Answer: Meetings with students will be held before the end of this school year.
