Several new adrainistrators w i 1 1 begin their duties at the opening of school this fall in the Ann Arbor district. Among those starting in new capacities are the three house leaders at Clague Middle School: Robert Carr, Jean Henne and Richard Nowland. Carr moved to the Clague post from his former position as principal at Wines. He joined the school district in 1960 as a teacher at Forsythe and has served as principal at Bach and Pittsfield. Miss Henne was a teacher at Tappan and joined the Ann Arbor schools in 1950 as a teacher at Mack. She was also principal at Dicken from 1957-69 and was director of elementary education until 1971. Nowland has been a social worker for the school district since 1962. Earlier, he served as a counselor at Washtenaw Community College and was a social worker for the Dearborn and Southfield public schools. Joseph Pollack will serve as principal at Pioneer High this fall after a year of being the interim principal. Prior to joining the Ann Arbor system last year, Pollack was an assistant principal at Detroit's Martin Luther King High School. He also taught for several years at Wayne State University. Mack elementary school's new principal is Jerome Tillman, who was an assistant professor at Wayne State University last year and also served as consultant to the Michigan Education Association at Michigan State University. From 1965-69 he taught in the Saginaw Public schools. Haywood Richardson, the former assistant for multi-ethnic studies, was appointed principal of Clinton II. From 1967-70 he was a teacher in Detroit and was a media specialist for the Ann Arbor schools from 197071. The new principal at Dicken School will be Dr. Barbara Inwood, who came to Ann Arbor in 1959 to teach. She was supervisor of elementary student teachers at the U-M from 1967-71. She was also the director of the Ann Arbor Title I summer school in September 1971 and has been the pre-school coördinator since last September. Dean Bodley will begin his duties this fall as the dean of the new Community High School. He is a lifetime resident of Ann Arbor and has taught physical education at Slauson and was chairman.of the physical education department last fall. Dr. James Buntin will take his responsibility for the organization, planning and implementation of the multi-ethnic program currently in effect in the Ann Arbor District. He has been director of personnel administration for the district for the past two years. Harold Fillyaw will serve this fall as the head of the program to establish reading workshops and in-service training for teachers and administrators. He served as interim principal at Mack since last November and had been a group worker there for a year prior to his appointment as interim principal. F. David Aberdeen, principal at Thurston Elementary School, has been appointed deputy superintendent for planning. William Mays Jr., principal at Newport Elementary School, has been named assistant superintendent for curriculum implementation.
