To wipe out a current deficit in the senior citizens program and maintain the program for the balance of the year, the Ann Arbor Board of Education last night authorized the transfer of $2,000 from the operating budget to the revolving fund in the recreation Department. According to a report I mitted to the board by Dr. David Aberdeen, deputy intendent for planning, the senior citizens program has I ated with a deficit since school year 1970-71. When the program was transferred from the Recreation Department to I the Continuing Education Department last fall, the deficit was not transferred with it. When the program was recently returned to the recreation department, the deficit remained. The subsidy for senior citizens carne from six áreas in the operating budget of the Recreation Department, including: baseball and softball, elementary age basketball, $100; Community School, $100; Slauson recreation custodian, $100; summer swim meets, $600; and junior high age basketball, $100.
