Our rapidly - expanding community and the growing popularity of the library are over extending our present facilities. Expansión is needed now. When the present building was constructed. 18.000 people had library cards; today. over 50.000 Ann Arbor people hold library cards. The chxulation of books in 1956-57 was 266.000; in 1967-68, 582,000 books circulated.
