There will be three vacancies on the Ann Arbor Board oí Education this June. The three trustees whose terms expire in June- School Board President Joseph R. Julin and Trustees Hazen J. Schumacher Jr. and William C. Godfrey- all announced yesterday they would not be candidates for reelection. The announcements w e r e made during an afternoon briefing session. Schumacher indicated in December he would not run for re-election, but he did not formally announce his decisión until yesterday. The University Televisión Center executive is completing his second term on the school board. He was first elected a trustee in 1963, and was re-elected in 1966. He was board president during the 196768 school year. Julin and Godfrey are finishing their first terms. Both were elected in 1966. Julin made an appeal to citizens who are interested in "maintaining a fine educational system" to consider running for the Board of Education this June. "I am convinced Ann Arbor has a wealth of talent . . ca pable of serving on the Board of Education," he said. The school board election will be held Monday, June 9. Petitions for persons interested in becoming school board candidates will be available soon at the s c h o o 1 ' s Administrative Offices, 1220 Wells. The deadline for filing petitions is Monday, May 12.
