Human Rihts Partschool Board candidates Curtís Holt and Gretchen Wilson have called for an immediate freeze on all administrative appointments within the school system. In the aftermath of the two resignations of top officials in the school system, the candidates said, "The Ann Arbor school system cannot afford the expensive administrative structure that now exists. The recent resignations of two administrators has freed $49,000 for other uses within the system. No one should be hired to fill either of these positions until the School Board is able to make a complete study of expenses within the administrative structure, and fat can be cut from this portion of the budget." The candidates said that if elected they would immediately move to set up a citizens committee of parents, teachers, and students to examine the administrative structure. This committee would have recommendations for the board before the beginning of the next school year so that any trimmings in the administrative budget cöuld be reallocated immediately, they said.
