1 - Without hesitation I support the passage of the library and the school operating millages. We definitely should not allow any curtailment of library operations. 2 - I favor both the building of a third high school and the use of smaller alternative secondary educational units. These units should be implemented as soon as possible and located throughout the main population areas of the district. 3 - Programs such as the new reading center at Carpenter Elementary School are worth giving as much consideration as possible and expanding, if found to be workable. The; criteria would have to be based on the educational and social needs of the student population. More emphasis should be placed on the implementation of sound vocational education courses to provide solid options for the non-college students. In addition, a wide variety of educational experimental programs should also be considered. O t h e r curriculum changes should involve teachers and community input and planning before implementation. The main emphasis of the system's budget should be on teaching and learning, and when curriculum changes are found necessary to sustain this, then they should be t developed if at all financially feasible.
