1- Yes to both questioas. 2- The questionis restrictive in the sense that it intends to limit aletrnatives and offers no real solution. I favor a combination of alternatives for the relief of overcrowding; the building of a third high school and the development of alternative secondary educational units ia the new high school or elsewhere. Other solutions could be suggested. Any proposal must be carefully studied to determine the impact it will have on the entire district. 3_i would set the order of priorities for curricular programs as follows, the first being most important. A - Improved basic academie subjects with the assurance that every student within the school system attains his maximum capabilities in the basic subjects. B- Educational experiences (including humanities) beyond the basic academies which equip students in the social sense to be prepared for our complex and problem filled society. C- Counselling and g u i dance programs which insure the best individualization of student curricular plans andi respond to individual student differences and abilities. D- Activities which have the potential of lasting benefit to aad involve the largest number of students at reasonable cost per student. E - Programs which have a large amount of public appeal but actually are for a small number of students and demand a high cost in resources.
