U. S. Restores Education Aid

LANSING- Federal budget officials reportedly have agreed to restore some $33 million cut from a program to help strengthen state departments of education, including $1.1 million for Michigan. That was the report rec e i v e d Wednesday by the state Board of Education from its federal lobbyist, Frank H. Hartman. Hartman said no public announcement had been made yet from Washington, but that federal education officials reported that the U.S Office of Management and Budget has decided to distribute at least the scheduled $33-million appropriation. The program is the socalled Title V section of the I Elementary and Secondary Education Act. I
