Leagues Urges 'Yes' On Proposal D

The League of Women Voters of Ann Arbor urges a yes vote on Proposal D,j the $1.1 billion transportation bond issue. This $1.1 billion when combined with federal and local matching funds willl genérate $6.25 billion, a sum which will enable Michigan to develop a total transportation system with benefits for every part of the state. Passage of Proposal D will help to: 1. Spur our state's economy which is I already suffering from the energy crisis. 2. Help assure adequate transportation between Southeastern Michigan's population centers and Northern Michigan's resort centers. 3. Help to revitalize our rail, air, and port systems. 4. Help provide a joint approach to pressing transit problems in Detroit and Southeastern Michigan. Vote yes on Proposal D on Nov. 5.
