Dülgéroff, defeated by a narrow margin íor the Republican nomination for sheriff] in the August primary election, today joined the campaign off the man to whom he lost,] George A. Petersen. In a joint statement, Í sen, who served three two-yearj terms as sheriff before Douglasj J. Harvey defeated him in 1964,1 and Dulgeroff told of the movel to joir' forces. I "Because of his strong dis-l agreement with the peculiar pol-l ;cies of the present sheriff, Stanl Dulgeroff has pledged to mei his unqualified support," Peter-I sen said. "He will assume a leading role in my campaign and will help conduct a hardhittins campaign based on issues created by the sheriff fail-j ing to deliver on his campaign j promises of four years ago. Harvey's inept administration of the office has caused Washtenawj County to suffer a great loss of integrity here and throughout the siate." Petersen said if he is elected in the Nov. 5 general election he will appoint Dulgeroff to a "top ccmmand post." That positioh will be one in which policy will bn formulated for the Sherliff's Department, and "strategie and operatioiial" planning wil) be made, Petersen said. The candidate lauded Dulgeroff's educational and profession-j al pólice experience.
