An Ann Arbor man who police say barricaded himself in a public restroom to avoid arrest on a window peeping charge was subdued and captured last night by pólice with the aid of the chemical spray, Mace. Pólice say Martin Shackelford, 20, of 1210 Baits, is free on $25 bond today after being arrested in a campus housing unit on Hubbard on a prowling charge. Pólice teil the story this way: Residents of the housing unit observed the man last night and pursued him while pólice were called. The man ran into a public restroom and when police arrived and ordered him to come out, he told them he was taking a bath. The two officers who responded to the cali tried to open the door to the rest room but were unable to. Just then two private security agency's men arrived to aid the officers. With the four pushing on the door, they got it open enough for one of the city officer's to reach his arm in and spray mace into the room. In about three minutes the man came out of the restroom and was placed under arrest. After being examined at University Hospital he was taken to the County Jail.
