■ - f Informal meetings with local young people are planned next week by the special committee appointed by Ann Arbor Mayor Robert J. Harris to identify the apparently unmet needs of local youth which led to the confrontations last week on S. University Second Ward Councilman Robert G. Faber, chairman of the I as yet unnamed committee, said he and his committee will meet Sunday and Wednesday with anyone "interested in giving their advice, opinions and ideas" about what changes, recreational and otherwise, are needed. The committee, which also includes Third Ward Councilmen Joseph W. Edwards and Nicholas D. Kazarinoff, is exploring the possibilities of temporary street closings, mails and block party permits for young people. Edwards and Kazarinoff will be at the rock concert Sunday at West Park to listen to any interested persons on the subject The committee also will be on the University Diagonal from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and again beginning at 8 p m Wednesday for the same purpose. In addition, the three men will be stationed in Ann Arbor City Hall's third floor conference room at 3 p.m. Wednesday to meet with students and other citizens Faber said that any letters on the subject of the S. University confrontation-including what led up to it and possible solutionscan be sent to him and his committee in care of City Hall The committee, according to Faber, wishes to determine the makeup of the group involved in last week's disturbance uncover why fhe confrontation developed, and come up with some'solutions for preventing further problems of this sort.
