The cwnpaign to raise $7.5 million toward the construction of the new St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township was officially - - launched today witlrprograms in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. The noon program at the Campus Inn in Ann Arbor was hosted by Don Robinson, chairman of the Special Gifts I División; and Howard Holmes, I chairman of the building camI paign. The 8 a.m. program in Ypsilanti was hosted by Ypsilanti co-chairman Gene L Butman and William Anhut and was held in the Huron Hotel. Introduced as team captains during the Ann Arbor program were Henry Aquinto, I Dr. Daniel Balbach, Robert Bring, John W. Conlin Jr., . Gage Cooper, Howard Cooper, Mrs. William Coughlin, John B. DeVine, Thomas L. Dickinson, William T. Dobson, Joseph J. Fitzsimmons, Mrs. Robert Fogelsong, Arthur Gallagher, Carolyn Gatward, Mrs,. Howard E. Groves Jr., John R. Hamilton, Mrs,. John C. Hunter, Kelly Newton, Dr. Donald W. Peterson, and Mrs. Frank E. Richart, Jr. Introduced as campaign workers for Ypsilanti were Wayne W. Adair, John Barfield, Joseph Butcko, Peter Fletcher, Worden Geer, Francis Griffin, Bernard Hughes, John Lynch, Harold C. Marsh, Max Obermeyer Jr., Pat O'Hara Jr., Richard Pellitier, Darrah Porter, and Richard Wagner. The start of the building campaign in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti will be followed by a second and larger General Gifts División kick-off in a few days. Under the leadership of Xerox-Univèrsity Microfilms' president Robert Asleson, the General Gifts División will have upwards of 300 workers. Solicitation activities among faculty and staff of the University of Michigan are also planned to begin in the next few weeks.
