Crane Gets United Way Position
"iWre are agíreát mny penrons m our eómmunity with all sorts of needs. I believe these needs can be most effectively and least expensively met through the United Way approach." This was the comment of Florence R. Crane of Ann Arbor as her appointment as vice chairman for the 1975 Washtenaw United Way Campaign was announced by George Thorne, general campaign chairman, this week. Mrs. Crane, a member of the state corrections commission, will direct next fall's campaign in the area's colleges and universities, public and private schools and other special assignments. She held a similar post in the 1974 campaign. Coordifiating the campaign in area coleges and universities will be David HeeDink, assistant to the president of the U-M. Harry Howard, superintendent of the Ann Arbor Public Schools, will direct the public and private school campaigns in Milan, Whitmore Lake, Ypsilanti, and Ann Arbor. Handling special assignments will be Harry Kenworthy, public relations manager of Michigan Bell Telephone Company. Directine the 1975 United Way campaign at the U-M will be Richard L. Kennedy, U-M Vice president for state relations and planning, at Eastern Michigan University, Ralph Gilden, EMU vice president for student affairs; and at Washtenaw Community College, Richard Hall, WCC deán oí business operations.
