The Washtenaw ounty Metropolitan Planning Commission was asked to compile a list of the "true owner and o t h e r interested persons" when considering rezonings by the county Board of Commissioners Tuesday. The request, in a motion by Frederick J. Schwall, DYpsilanti Township, was that the commission determine the owner of a particular piece of land and, where possible, also specify any other persons who might have an interest in the property. Schwall said he believed the Planning Commission could obtain such details and that certain township boards and commissions were not trying to obtain all the necessary ïnformation before considering rezonings. The Metropolitan Planning Commission makes nonbinding recommendations on each rezoning request in the county in unincorporated areas. Zoning requests are generally considered first by the local planning commission, then by the county body and finally decided by the local township board. Schwall said he believed the local governmental unit should be aware of a developer's interest in the property before a rezoning is considered and that the county Planning Commission could include such information in its recommendation to the local units. In other business the board: - After a mass of parliamentary maneuvers agreed to refer back to committee a resolution requiring that all agendas for committee meetings be formulated personally by the chairman of the particular committee and that any item to be placed on the agenda be submitted to the county administrator's office at least three days in advance. The resolution also specified persons should be notified they were to appear before a committee not less than 24 hours in advance. The ' resolution as it stands could créate scheduling problems for the county Ways and [Means Committee and was lopposed by several commisIsioners on the grounds it would deprïveMnterested citizens from speaking before a committee on any particular issue. - Authorized the chairman to sign a subgrant contract agreement f o r second-year funding for the Occupational Training Program for state and county wards which will provide $115,531. -Authorized the chairman to sign a grant request for $109,000 in federal funds for the conduct and administration and community services programs for the Office of Economie Opportunity. Funding for the program, should the county be awarded the grant, will begin Nov. 1, 1972.
