Treasurer's Small Request Draws Smile

"A sJíí anÖswéiTpf eáMaiSerf bthe County Treasurer brought a smile Monday to the chairwoman of the Board of Commissioners budget subcommitte,e, Catherine McClary, D-Ann Arbor. Hilary Goddard said currently staffing in his department was adequate and hopefully he could get by with small increases in items like postage. He said he did not know how much it would cost to administer the new hotel and motel tax, but he expected any cost would be pald for by the expected $7,000 in revenue allocated to his departirient. The new ordinance goes into effect Sept. 1, Commissioner Meri Lou Murray, D' Ann Arbor, chairwoman of the Board of Commissioners, noted that Goddard did not ask for much.
