I WCC?s Board of Trustees made the 1 lection in a special meeting Thursday I night with a view toward selecting a I new president, about July 1, who could I assume duües when the 1975 f all I ter starts. ... I Ponitz, who has been WCC's president I since the college opened in 1965, 1 nounced several weeks ago that he has I accepted a position as president of 1 clair Community College in Dayton, I Olio. .. . I Pollock commented this mormng that I "we have an excellent faculty and 1 ministrative staff; I don't look forward to I any major difficulties." He described his appointment as acting president as "essentially a holding action," stating "I am not an applicant for the presidency." A recently formed search commiuee, i appointed by the WCC trustees, has I selected WCC counselor Marguente EagHn as.chairwoman; Ralph W. Banfield, director of community college services at the U-M, as vice-chairman, and Harry J. Konschuh, WCC's personnel manager, as secretary. Pollock, 53, has been a member of WCC's administrative staff since Febm[ary 1966 He was the third person employed when the college's staff was being built. Initially, Pollock served as WCC s dean lof student services. He was appointed Idean of special projects. when that posiI tion was created as part of an adminisItrative re-organization at the college in I May, 1968. That position's chief responsiI bility involved becomkig knowledgeable I in rpeard to sources of federal and state mváüábíe for assisUng communUy I college programs. Pollock's present title, reflecting more general administrative responsibilities, was assigned four years ago. He has served as WCC's ranking executive I cial whenever President Ponitz has been
